About the area

In Winter

In Summer

Skiing is the obvious reason to come to Sixt in the winter.  As part of the extensive Grand Massif ski area all levels of skiers will find plenty of fun & challenges.

The nearest ski lift is just 50 metres from your front door.  Sixt is a wonderful place to learn to ski, the pistes are quiet with gentle progression as your confidence and skills build.

Alternatively hop in the car or on the bus, which stops just 250m from the apartment, and in  10 minutes or less you are at the gondola of Samoens.

If downhill skiing isn't for everyone in your party, cross country skiing & snow-shoeing are just some activities on your doorstep which will help you enjoy being outdoors in the mountains.

The Alps in the the summer (from June well into autumn) are delightful.  Getting out into the hills to walk or cycle makes you feel glad to be alive.

If you fancy raising the adrenalin level; rafting, canyoning, rock climbing and so much more are available in the valley.

Or if lazing at the apartment is more appealing; you have a private garden with terrace for meals and BBQs.  Lie back in the sun and watch the buzzards and eagles soar above you or the antics of the Tibolire hens and cats in the garden.

There are numerous day trip options, Chamonix is only an hour away by car (or 12 hours on foot - but what a walk!); Yvoire, the medival fishing village on the edge of lake Geneva is just over an hour; the Venice of the Alps (Annecy) is an easy drive or if you wish to sample more of what France has to offer the Beaujolais wine region is about 2.5 hours away.
